“There is something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a child.”
Here at Childrens Ranch we believe that there is something good about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a child and we are doing something about it every day.
Childrens Ranch is a non-profit 501 c3 organization located on the beautiful bluffs of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. This organization connects kids with horses every single day.
Childrens Ranch was started by Jim and JoAnne White in 1995. It became known as a place for not only children but also adults and families. Today Childrens Ranch is operated by President Gracie White and the rest of Childrens Ranch’s Board of Directors. Childrens Ranch’s biggest program is Steps-to-Become a Cowboy lesson program. Kids ages 8-16 learn how to be a real cowboy while learning horse-talk, how to ride, caring for a horse, and more! Plus kids have opportunities to go on trail rides, participate in gymkhanas, and go on camping trips throughout the summer. Childrens Ranch’s Steps-To-Become-A-Cowboy is very successfully put on solely by volunteers!
